Hi ya All,
Back with Part II of the "Package Compressing" tutorial. If you haven't prepared your package files yet, please check Part I for details.
Combining and compressing your (package-) files has as main benefit that you can have very much custom content in CAS & in game while the loading speed of the content remains within acceptable boundaries.
Please checkout the tutorial about compressing here: Compressing Files (Part II)
Good luck with the compressing & Happy Simming !! :D

You smart devil! Very well explained. Much better than some other versions I've tried.
Thanks Miss L !! :D
It's good to get this kind of feedback. I'm glad it worked :)
The first time I did this i found the files with instances with code "0x0000000000000000" AND Tag "_XML" and everything worked fine but the second and third times and I didn't find anything with those tags or instances. Does that part matter?
Hi wishnxonxaxstr :)
No it doesn't really matter. For example if you compress PeggyZone packages, you don't have these instances ("0x0000000000000000"). If these are not there, it's OK. But if these instances are there, you need to 'delete' them.
I hope this helps and answers your question ;)
Thank you :), also does it matter if the compressed file ends up being larger than the original seperate ones. Say if all the files together were 25 MB but then you compress them and they end up being 27 MB?
No, that's no problem too :)
The game will still speed up, because the game normally reads / loads the files one by one, now there are only a few compressed files (so less files, means more speed)
;)
Alright, thanks for all the help :)
No problem !! Glad I could help !
;)
Say i have a male hair that i use on almost all my guys, if i were to compress it with all my other "Nubi hairs, will my game still trace it's path to that hair? Or will once I compress the cc files, i'll have to go back through and reassign the cc to my simmies?
